We put the safety and dignity of the women, children and communities we work with ahead of every other consideration.

Zero tolerance
Sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment by staff, volunteers or partners are gross misconduct and grounds for dismissal and referral to the authorities.
Safe recruitment
Reference and misconduct checks for all staff; signed Code of Conduct and PSEA commitments before starting work.
Trained focal points
A safeguarding focal point in each office, and PSEA training for every staff member and volunteer.
Survivor-centred response
Concerns are handled confidentially, with the safety, wishes and dignity of the survivor first.
Dignified communication
We never publish names, faces or locations of programme participants without informed consent, and we blur faces where consent is not confirmed.
Partner standards
Sub-grantees and suppliers sign our safeguarding clauses and are monitored for compliance.
