Who we are
ADVO is a non-profit, non-political development organization founded in 2015 and registered with the Ministry of Economy. It supports war-affected Afghans, especially women and youth, to build the skills they need for employment and to start their own enterprises.
Who We AreMission
Empower Afghan communities, especially women, with the tools, skills and resources to improve livelihoods and achieve food security.
Vision
A prosperous, self-reliant Afghanistan where individuals, particularly women, generate sustainable livelihoods and ensure food security for their families.

What we do

Skills, income and decision-making power for Afghan women and their households.
5 projects
Market-relevant trades taught to youth and women, from tailoring to carpet weaving.
3 projects
Food assistance linked to training, so families eat today and earn tomorrow.
5 projects
Small enterprises, productive assets and links to buyers.
Safer communities for women, children, returnees and people with disabilities.
Community health awareness and support to primary health services.
Water, sanitation, hygiene and watershed management.
2 projects
Animal husbandry, kitchen gardens and irrigation for rural households.
Helping farming communities cope with drought, heat and erratic rainfall.
Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction with communities.

How we work
Female facilitators run sessions for women in women-only spaces within walking distance of home.
Trades are chosen after a local market assessment, so graduates can earn from what they learn.
Communities can raise concerns confidentially, and we publish our results, policies and audits.
